My Week in Style

Today concludes the last day of my first week of school. The week went by so fast that I don't even know what to make of it. I didn't realize today was Friday for.. a while.

So! Because I have not posted any of my outfits this week I am sharing them with you today.

(BTW: This is probably when you will see my weeks outfits because I play a sport and its hard to find a good time to post. So the majority of my clothing post will be either posted on a Friday or Saturday.)

Here we go!

Of course I have to take my mirror pics.

Sadly, I was not thinking straight on Monday and I only took this photo and the mirror pic of that outfit.
So! I will try to go out and take some photos in this outfit so that you can get the complete look.

This was my chill day and I just wore some cropped yogas, a vneck, and some grey Vans.

Oh my goodness.. I was so tired today.

Those were the outfits that I wore this week. I hope you enjoyed it.

Back to School: The First Day

Today I want to give some tips about dressing for the first day of school, and tomorrow I will share some tips for the first week!

When dressing for the first day you want to look nice! In my personal opinion I think that a lot of people take this a little too far. They over dress. You basically just want to look nice! I cant find another word to describe it soo I will use pictures because a picture, as we all know, is worth a thousand words.

Outfit Idea 1:

This is an outfit for a school with a warm climate and VERY lax dress code.
It's also pretty summer, but guess what it's still summer!

Summer doesn't end when school starts.

Here is Idea #2:

This outfit is very chill and low key and perfect for the first day of school. When I wake up at 6 am putting pants on isn't exactly an appealing why not opt for a cute an comfy dress instead? In order to make this look more chill I paired it with some ombre combat boots and a knit sweater. I like when my outfits look a bit edgy so that's where the boots and jewelry come in.

My main inspiration for this look came from Bethany Mota's Back to School video.

And final my last idea!

idea #3:

This outfit is pretty edgy, but I am in love with it. Everything is from Forever 21 except the shoes, which is amazing because its all affordable! I love skater skirts and am dying to ad more to my closet. And I think the one in oxblood is a must.

Back To School Shopping: School Supplies

Sorry for not posting in a while! I've been busy with rearranging my room and volleyball..whew. It's been quite a week.

With no further ado!

Not everyone loves to shop for school supplies, but I do. It's just another excuse to shop and buy new stuff, even if they are notebooks and pencils.

Soo.. here is what I bought in order to be prepared for the new school year:

I bought everything from Target, except for the backpack. I found that while moving into my sisters room!

My philosophy when buying school supplies is to be colourful and fashionable. Fashion and style does NOT end when it comes to school and office supplies. Who likes drab and lifeless offices or school supplies? Nobody does. Unless you are just extremely boring.

To stay organized I colour coded my notebooks and folders by class. My chemistry stuff is a lime green, and my AP NSL stuff is purple. The orange 5 Star notebook is actually a three subject for English, theatre, and math. And, of course, you have to have a cute planner and pencil pouch!

To find a cute pencil pouch just go take a look where all the make up bags are.

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

So I think it is probably any girl's dream who is into fashion to go to the New York Fashion Week, but if you don't live in New York City, or have access to tickets this would be very hard to accomplish.

Well then I have exciting news for you!!

After scrolling around on instagram I found out that the shows are being aired live!
I don't know if they have ever been aired live before or not, but this has got me very excited!

The Spring 2014 collections will be presented on September 5-12 in NYC. To watch the shows just visit their website and enjoy!

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week site:
To watch the shows live:

Some shows that I will be tuning into:

6:00 PM ~ The Art Institute of NYC

9:30 - 10:30 AM ~ Rafeal Cennamo
6:30 - 8:00 PM ~ Charlotte Ronson

4:00 PM ~ Diane Von Furstenberg
5:00 PM ~ Joanna Mastroianni
7:00 PM ~ Zac Posen

Finding a time to watch them live is a little bit difficult considering that I am a student and that I also play a sport so I looked at there schedule to see what I would actually be available to watch.
I am hoping to see many of the other designers collections after they are aired!

Back to School

Soo.. It THAT time of year again and I think that the majority of people have mixed feelings about it.

I, for one, am very excited to go back so that I can see my friends and actually have a reason to get dressed, and not just sit around all day everyday. BUT, I am not looking forward to the workload at all.

Going back to school also gives us excuses to go shopping sooo.. I will be doing some back to school posts! Look forward to seeing those maybe tomorrow and definitely next week!

My Summer Reading

When most people hear the words "summer reading" they think about the dreaded essay they have to write about some very deep and complex books. BUT that's not the type of summer reading that I'm talking about. Sure I still do have to do my summer reading for school, but that's what procrastination is for!

So! This summer I have been extremely slacking when it comes to reading for the pleasure of it.

But this coming school year I am trying to make a habit of reading a book for pleasure every two weeks. Reading provides an escape from the world and is much much better for your brain than watching T.V all the time, although that can definitely be interesting.

What I have read this summer though is:

~ The Pale Assassin by Patricia Elliott
I personally loved this book mainly because it was set during the French Revolution ( I am bound to like just about any book set in that time period) and that it also had some romance in it. Who doesn't love that? This was my second time reading it but it was just as good as the first because there is so much detail that you are still captured into the story and love every minute of. There was not a moment that I was bored.

And I sadly have to admit that The Pale Assassin was the only book i've completely finished this summer, but I am in the process of reading two other books which are:

~ An Actor Prepares by Stanislavski
~ Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

I hope to read more books and share them you guys!

In the mean time I should probobly actually get my summer work done..

Fun times at the Fair

So I went to the fair last week with a few friends and had an absolute blast. I had a great time on the rides, (although they were a bit pricey and I am now in debt to my friends) and spent a great evening with some great people. If you have a local fair I encourage you to take advantage of it and have an amazing time also.

As you can see I have a tiny obsession with taking artsy pictures of ferris wheels, but what can I say? They turned out! And! I took these photos with my iphone! Isn't that great? I am hoping to invest in a nice camera real soon and take more artsy photos and also TRY and share what I wear to school when it starts up again.

Wearing: DIY highwaisted shorts, rainbow flip flops, and blouse unkown, headband from Forever 21, and sunglasses from Nordstrom.
