6 hours in Madrid

Madrid
October 11, 2019

My roomates and I went on a trip to Barcelona for the weekend, but since we were in Spain I decided that I needed to go to Madrid in order to go to the EcoAlf store. They only have two locations right now. I'll delve into them more when I discuss brands I support and to share my experience at the store!

Anyways, I only spent 6 hours there because I needed to save as much money as possible. A roundtrip train ticket between Barcelona and Madrid cost more than my flight from Florence to Barcelona. Insane. So the cheapest option ended up being for me to arrive in Madrid at 10 am and leave at 4. Just enough time for me to run to EcoAlf and then meet a friend of mine that's living in Madrid for lunch. A super quick trip that left me really wanting to see so much more of the city.

The city is beautiful and the colorful streets and architecture reminded me of a mix between Old San Juan and Paris. We lunched at this place called Takos (in the photo) where you order individual tacos (super cheap) and they come out on a platter. They're amazingly delicious! There was a line out the door even though we got there right after it opened for the day.

When I have the chance to go back I'd love to delve into the city more and explore the castle and museums. Spain is such a beautiful country and I really hope to return soon.

Enjoy,
Aleksandra
